About this role

The Business Intelligence focus specializes in data architecture for reporting services, and design expertise in data warehouses, data marts, and business intelligence (BI) enterprise reporting. It involves identifying ways to increase the use of BI within the firm and designing end-to-end BI solutions that provide insights for key decision-makers.

This role is within Preqin, part of BlackRock, which plays a key role in revolutionizing private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing our Aladdin platform to deliver comprehensive investment solutions.

The Analyst will reach out to investors in Europe to build relationships and gather proprietary information about investment activities, preferences, and future plans. Responsibilities include handling data inquiries, quality assurance, data monitoring for consistency, and engaging clients regarding our Preqin Pro platform.

Note: Fluency in German is required

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively communicating with professionals across the alternative assets industry to obtain proprietary information on investment activities.
  • Updating Preqin's CRM with financial data, statistics, and analysis.
  • Conducting bespoke statistical analyses for clients.
  • Collaborating with teams in North America and APAC, and other departments to fulfill requests and deliver solutions.
  • Supporting senior team members on research projects and data development activities.
  • Contributing to research reports, blogs, and publications occasionally.
  • Performing supplementary public and web research as needed.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Degree-level education (ideally a 2:1 or equivalent) or relevant industry experience of at least 1 year.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic in relationship building.
  • Strong research skills and investigative instincts.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a target-driven environment with KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and collaborative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is desirable.
  • Experience in communication and relationship management is desirable.
  • Knowledge of alternative assets and their role in finance is desirable.
  • Additional languages are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken German is essential.
