Job Description

Location: Salisbury (Full-Time Onsite)

Contract Length: 21 Months

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Alarms System Implementation Specialist to support a large-scale, high-hazard laboratory environment. This role focuses on improving alarm management systems to enhance safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing a structured alarms management framework, ensuring alignment with safety regulations and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a site-wide alarm management strategy
  • Review and optimise existing alarm systems to improve effectiveness and reduce unnecessary alarms
  • Produce detailed documentation, including alarm philosophies, procedures, and working instructions
  • Adapt alarm management policies to suit high-hazard facilities and environments
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and operational teams
  • Design and deliver a comprehensive implementation and improvement plan
  • Support training and upskilling of internal teams to ensure sustainable alarm management practices
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements

Required Experience

  • Proven experience in alarm management/alarm systems/control systems environments
  • Strong understanding and practical experience of EEMUA 191 guidelines
  • Hands-on experience with industrial control systems such as:
    • Schneider Electric (EcoStruxure)
    • Trend, Vista, Saulter or similar platforms
  • Experience in policy or process implementation within technical environments
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and drive initiatives in complex environments

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of DSEAR regulations
  • Experience working in high-hazard or regulated environments (eg, labs, chemicals, oil & gas)
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental compliance standards
