Contract Length: 21 Months
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Alarms System Implementation Specialist to support a large-scale, high-hazard laboratory environment. This role focuses on improving alarm management systems to enhance safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing a structured alarms management framework, ensuring alignment with safety regulations and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a site-wide alarm management strategy
- Review and optimise existing alarm systems to improve effectiveness and reduce unnecessary alarms
- Produce detailed documentation, including alarm philosophies, procedures, and working instructions
- Adapt alarm management policies to suit high-hazard facilities and environments
- Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and operational teams
- Design and deliver a comprehensive implementation and improvement plan
- Support training and upskilling of internal teams to ensure sustainable alarm management practices
- Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements
Required Experience
- Proven experience in alarm management/alarm systems/control systems environments
- Strong understanding and practical experience of EEMUA 191 guidelines
- Hands-on experience with industrial control systems such as:
- Schneider Electric (EcoStruxure)
- Trend, Vista, Saulter or similar platforms
- Experience in policy or process implementation within technical environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and drive initiatives in complex environments
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of DSEAR regulations
- Experience working in high-hazard or regulated environments (eg, labs, chemicals, oil & gas)
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental compliance standards
