Air Traffic Control Officer - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
The role involves maintaining the integrity and safety of airfield operations and delivering essential air traffic services in line with regulatory requirements. You will support flying operations and ensure compliance with applicable frameworks.
Responsibilities- Deliver air traffic control services in accordance with regulatory and operational requirements
- Maintain documentation, competency, and compliance with unit standards and procedures
- Support safety management systems, including risk assessments, hazard logs and safety improvements
- Coach and mentor colleagues and trainees where qualified
- Perform Duty Air Traffic Control Officer responsibilities and support wider contract delivery
This role is 40 hours per week, based on site at Wittering, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. Shift patterns apply and will include weekends to meet operational requirements.
Essential Experience- Act as the duty ATCO and ensure the integrity of the airfield is maintained, including movement area and equipment readiness for safe operations
- Mentoring or training experience within an air traffic or aviation environment is advantageous
- Managing and processing meteorological information accurately within required timeframes
- Interpreting flight planning messages and preparation of notices and operational records
- Working within regulated aviation frameworks and safety-critical environments
- Collaborating effectively with operational teams and stakeholders
- Civil Aviation Authority Air Traffic Controller Licence (Aerodome (ADI) rating)
- Current European Class 3 Medical
- IT literate (including Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Full UK driving licence
- On the Job Training Instructor qualification
- Experience within a military aviation environment
- Air Traffic Control Assistant experience
- Meteorological Observer qualification
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain a Terrorist Check (CTC) and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) security clearance for this role. Many roles may be subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. Eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and residency.
