Agricultural Vehicle UnderwriterFurther your career at NFU Mutual during an exciting time of transformation and change, undertaking a specialist underwriting role - which is being offered as 12-month fixed term contractHelp shape our Agricultural Vehicle strategy, utilising your extensive knowledge in this area to evolve our underwriting guidance, processes and policiesHybrid working on offer - spend up to 80% of your time at home, to achieve an excellent work-life balance, with 20% attendance at one of our offices: Stratford-upon Avon, York, Bristol, Belfast or GlasgowAbout the roleThis is an exciting opportunity to join NFU Mutual's Head Office Underwriting Department as part of our Farming and Estates Segment Underwriting team.Reporting to the Underwriting Segment Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping our underwriting strategy for the agricultural vehicle product - bringing expert judgement, developing guidance, and translating underwriting appetite into clear, actionable rules and processes. You'll work closely with colleagues across Pricing, Propositions, Sales, Agency, Claims and wider business functions, influencing decision making and ensuring our underwriting practices remain consistent, customer focused, and commercially effective. You'll undertake regular account management and contribute to strategic projects, that improve how we operate and support our ambition to remain the UK's most trusted insurer - making and ensuring our underwriting practices remain consistent, customer-focused, and commercially effective.The role offers hybrid working to support flexibility, collaboration, and wellbeing - this will involve spending 20% of your time at one of our NFU Mutual offices (Stratford-upon Avon, York, Bristol, Belfast or Glasgow), and up to 80% of your time working from home.This role is known internally as: Class Underwriter - SegmentAbout youYou bring strong technical knowledge and a background in Farm underwriting, supported by analytical and strategic thinking skills. You are confident using data to inform decisions, undertaking report writing, and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
