The jobholder is responsible for developing and maintaining St. James's Place Advice Policy, interpreting business and legislative requirements across the UK business. The jobholder ensures the Advice Framework is updated appropriately and designs and maintains Suitability Letter templates, training, and communication materials of a technical nature. They manage the impact of corporate projects on the Advice process, contributing as a technical expert to wider project deliverables. Advice Policy Consultants support Advice Policy Leads on larger projects and handle their own change initiatives and BAU activities.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage the change delivery of Advice workstreams impacted by corporate or legislative change, contributing to multiple projects and overseeing junior team members, applying Consumer Duty principles at every step.
- Design, deliver, and maintain advice documentation and supporting materials, engaging with third-party suppliers and internal departments to meet SJP standards.
- Understand and implement legislative changes across the SJP Partnership and other business areas.
- Provide consultancy support and technical expertise on advice guidance issues internally and externally.
- Develop effective communication methods and training content to cascade information on legislative and business changes to the Partnership, Field Management Team, and Business Assurance.
- Lead the design and delivery of technical support materials such as help sheets, Q&A documents, and checklists for BA and Partners/PSS.
- Engage with and present to various audiences, including Partners, Partnership Support Staff, and Senior Stakeholders, and deputise for the Head of Advice Proposition Development as needed.
Who we're looking for:
A creative individual capable of solving complex problems involving technical advice processes and designing tools like the Suitability Letter report writing tool. You should be knowledgeable about all aspects of advice processes and regarded as a source of technical advice for others.
- CII Diploma qualified minimum
- Experience with advice processes and delivering regulatory-compliant change
- Strong understanding of financial planning advice principles, FCA COBS Suitability assessment, and documentation requirements
- Experience in problem-solving related to technical advice and report writing tools
- Desirable: Investment, IHT & Trust Planning experience and Chartered qualification
Special Requirements:
Some travel between offices is required.
