Job Title: Advice and Information Project Manager (Interim, 6 Months)
Location: Slough Borough Council, Slough, UK
Contract: Interim - 6 months
Reports to: Strategic Commissioning Manager, Adult Social Care
Slough Borough Council has a statutory duty under the Care Act 2014 to provide accessible information and advice about care and support. We are seeking an experienced, motivated interim to undertake a 6-month focused review of our Advice and Information (A&I) provision, ensuring services are inclusive, timely, and accessible to all residents, including those historically hard to reach.
This role will work collaboratively across council departments, health partners, and the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector to map, review, and redesign the delivery of information and advice across Slough. The outcomes will inform our Adult Social Care "Front Door" transformation and contribute to our CQC improvement plan.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a strategic review of current Advice & Information provision across Slough, including both formal and informal services.
- Map service provision and identify gaps, duplication, strengths, and opportunities.
- Engage with VCSE partners, community groups, and residents to understand needs and co-design solutions.
- Analyse trends, data, and performance metrics to inform recommendations.
- Develop a set of practical, evidence-based recommendations, including potential partnership or compact models within the voluntary sector.
- Ensure information and advice is accessible, including offline channels, face-to-face, and telephone support.
- Promote inclusion for underrepresented or hard-to-reach groups, including veterans, homeless people, Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities, and those with literacy or language barriers.
- Contribute to Adult Social Care transformation work, ensuring alignment with statutory duties and CQC improvement priorities.
- Produce a blueprint for a holistic, inclusive Advice and Information service, supported by stakeholder consultation.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality outcomes in complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in project or programme management from design to completion, including change management.
- Skilled in co design and stakeholder engagement, including service users and community groups.
- Strong understanding of Adult Social Care, Care Act 2014 duties, and statutory requirements.

- Able to communicate effectively and build credibility quickly across multiple agencies.
- Experience working with VCSE partners and multi agency teams.
- Comfortable working autonomously to tight deadlines and managing competing priorities.
- Significant experience in local authority, health, or social care commissioning and transformation.
- Proven experience of mapping, reviewing, and redesigning access or advice pathways.
- Experience managing performance frameworks, outcome monitoring, and quality assurance.
- Familiarity with multi agency partnership work and community engagement.
- PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification desirable.
