Main duties of the jobYou will be responsible for delivering same-day care for patients presenting with minor illness, working across face-to-face and remote consultations. The role involves managing acute presentations, making clinical decisions independently, and supporting patient flow through the practices triage system. You will also work closely with the wider clinical team to ensure safe, efficient care, while contributing to a positive patient experience and smooth day-to-day running of services.

Job Title: Advanced Nurse Practitioner Minor Illness Reporting to: GP Partners / Practice Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care for acute and minor illness presentations
- Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and discharge patients or refer as appropriate
- Prescribe safely and effectively (if an independent prescriber)
- Work within practice triage systems to manage same-day demand
- Provide clinical advice and guidance to patients and the wider team
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records
- Support health promotion and self-care where appropriate
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement
Person Specification
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
- Experience managing minor illness and acute presentations in primary or urgent care
- Independent Prescriber (or working towards)
- Strong clinical assessment and decision making skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Experience using EMIS
- Experience working within primary care triage systems (e.g. Accurx)
- Interest in service development or teaching
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
- Advanced Clinical Practice qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience managing minor illness and acute presentations in primary or urgent care
- Independent Prescriber or working towards
- Strong clinical assessment and decision making skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Experience using EMIS
- Experience working within primary care triage systems e.g. Accurx
