Adult Education Tutor (Parenting Programmes) - this role involves delivering groupwork to parents and carers within the Parent and Carer Support, Wellbeing and Child Poverty Team.

Salary and Hours: Sessional/Tertiary/Casual - £24.43 per hour. Hours: 0 hour contract with usual commitment of 2 3 hours a week for 3 14 week programmes.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, deliver and facilitate parenting courses with fidelity to the course materials.
  • Facilitate universal and targeted evidence based parenting courses to parents and carers across Edinburgh.
  • Support the delivery of programmes lasting 3 14 weeks, typically requiring 2-3 hours a week.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience supporting families and facilitating group work is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and sensitivity to diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Prior training in or benefit from a parenting programme is advantageous.

Employment Conditions: This is a casual tertiary contract with no minimum hours guaranteed.

  • Regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
  • Candidate must join the PVG Scheme or provide a PVG Scheme update check.
  • Where required, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be requested for recent UK absences of 3 months or more.
