Location: Wigan Borough (Travel required within the local area)

Temp/Perm: Full-time temporary (option for 0.8 FTE - Fridays not required)

Pay: £17 per hour (Paid for teaching time and prep/planning/CPD, equivalent to a salaried full-time role)

Hours: Full-time (or 0.8)

Start: ASAP

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Adult Functional Skills English Tutor to join an established community learning team in the Wigan borough. You will teach learners working towards Functional Skills English from Entry 2 through to Level 2, supporting them to achieve nationally recognised qualifications in small, well-supported classes. This is a highly supportive environment with strong success rates and excellent CPD provision.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality Functional Skills English lessons (Entry 2 to Level 2)

Support learners through engaging, differentiated teaching

Complete planning, marking, assessments and CPD (paid time included)

Requirements

A recognised teaching qualification appropriate for Adult/FE delivery

Experience teaching English or Functional Skills to adult learners

Ability to travel within the Wigan borough to community venues

All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years' referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
