School Administrator Specialist PRU Setting Manchester

Location: Manchester (Chorlton and Longsight) Salary and Contract: £13,626 - £14,851, (Part time Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), term time only, permanent 21 hours per week.

Manchester Secondary PRU is seeking to appoint a resilient and proactive School Administrator to join our dedicated support team. This is a pivotal role that goes beyond standard office duties; you will be the operational "heart" of the school, providing high-level administrative and financial support to our Pastoral Team and Senior Leadership.

The Role: Excellence in School Operations

As a School Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Specialist Administration: Managing complex forms, returns, and correspondence relating to the school's specialist status and the Pastoral Team.
  • Financial Support: Assisting with the monitoring of designated budgets, procurement of supplies, and the reconciliation and security of cash in line with financial regulations.
  • Executive Assistance: Managing the Senior Assistant Headteacher's diary and providing bespoke administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Front-of-House Excellence: Undertaking reception duties as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies.
  • Student Welfare: Contributing to the wider school life, including supervising students during lunchtimes and assisting with educational visits and exam invigilation.
  • Data & Reporting: Effectively using IT systems to produce management reports, statistics, and high-quality resources for stakeholders.
Essential Requirements

To be successful in this position, you must possess:

  • UK School Experience: A minimum of 6 months' recent experience working within a UK school administrative environment.
  • Clearance: An Enhanced DBS certificate currently registered on the Update Service.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience in ordering supplies and contributing to the monitoring of financial resources or budgets.
  • Technical Proficiency: The ability to operate various software packages and school management information systems (e.g., SIMS).
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to produce high-quality professional documentation.
  • Personal Attributes: A high level of tact, diplomacy, and the flexibility to adapt to the unique challenges of an SEMH environment.
