Windows Server Administrator

Location: Berlin or Würzburg

The Server Management department is responsible for server-related services within the DRV's joint data center. We collect and plan the requirements of the German pension insurance institutions on an as-needed basis and provide our customers with operating systems and virtualization solutions tailored to their requirements on various geo-redundant and standardized platforms. To this end, we specialize in the provision and operation of VMware, Red Hat Open Shift, Oracle Linux KVM, and, on the operating system side, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux, and Microsoft Windows Server for our customers in the virtualization environment.

Your tasks

Coordinating and performing the following tasks with a focus on Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Windows Terminal Server technology (Remote Desktop Session Host and RDS Deployment), Windows Update Service (WSUS), and Microsoft Key Management Service (KMS): Coordinating and performing the following tasks with a focus on Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Windows Terminal Server technology (Remote Desktop Session Host and RDS Deployment), Windows Update Service (WSUS), and Microsoft Key Management Service (KMS): Creating IT analyses, developing and implementing highly complex concepts and IT systems, and coordinating, planning, and executing IT processes.

  • Monitoring and controlling IT procedures, problem analysis, and highly complex troubleshooting.
  • Planning, designing, and documenting IT operating procedures, as well as handling difficult customer requirements. Preparing and conducting training measures and participating in project or working groups and committees (including cross-institutional)
  • There is a need to participate in on-call duty on weekends and public holidays.

    The position requires a willingness to occasionally travel between Berlin and Würzburg.

    Your profile
    • Successfully completed university education (bachelor's or diploma degree) in the IT field or comparable qualification (e.g., IT-specific qualification) or completed vocational training in the IT field or comparable practical experience of several years in the IT field
    • Several years of relevant professional experience in IT with regard to transition and administration, focusing on: working with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Windows Terminal Server technology (Remote Desktop Session Host and RDS Deployment), Windows Update Service (WSUS), and Microsoft Key Management Service (KMS).
    • Experience in highly complex PowerShell scripts.
    • Ideally, knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Cloud services.
    • Experience in creating design concepts in Confluence is an advantage.
    • Business fluent German.
