OverviewEssex County Council (ECC) is supporting Basildon Borough Council to recruit an Administrator for a full time, temporary role. The successful candidate will work on site at least three days per week and contribute to the democratic services of the council.
Key Responsibilities- Provide effective, proactive, and comprehensive business support to the team.
- Support the organisation of meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and coordinating paperwork.
- Quality assure documents required for internal and external meetings.
- Work collaboratively with the Programme Management Office (PMO) and Democratic Services teams.
- Assist with a range of administrative tasks including inbox management, tracking actions, maintaining records, and supporting project documentation.
- Ensure confidentiality, accuracy and timely completion of all tasks.
- Ability to learn quickly, work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience in local authority or council roles highly beneficial.
- Experience in governance, democratic services, or elections is advantageous.
- Confident using IT systems and able to navigate new digital platforms with ease.
- Good understanding of GDPR and information governance.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Pre employment vetting procedure required; successful candidates will undergo a vetting process.
- Highly organised and reliable.
- Able to work collaboratively with multiple teams.
- Clear communicator, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable managing competing deadlines and working independently.
