We have an exciting opportunity for a full time administrator/receptionist to join our established team.
The post is for 37.5 hours per week and will include some Reception work.
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
Experience with EMIS is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
The successful candidate will be eligible to join the NHS pension scheme.
Main duties of the jobAnsweringthe telephone and dealing with enquiries, re-directing where needed.
Actioning requests for repeat prescriptions using a computerised system, liaising with hospitals/pharmacies where appropriate.
Toopen all post, except private and confidential items. To distribute to appropriatepartner/manager/member of staff. To scanpatient specific mail onto the clinical record.
Toenter and accurately read code relevant correspondence into the computer system.
Tosummarise patient paper records onto the computer system.
Checkpathology test results have been received from the hospital action normalresults as appropriate and distribute to appropriate GPs.
About usWe are a forward thinking, supportive team who currently care for approximately 7700 patients, with a higher than average elderly population.
Our well established team includes 7GPs, 3 ACPs, 3 Practice Nurses and 1 HCA. We also benefit from the support of the additional roles within Neston & Willaston PCN, which includes services such as an acute paramedic visiting service, a clinical pharmacy team and physiotherapy support.

- Toprovide cover for annual leave/sickness within the administration department andreception
- To beable to run searches on EMIS web and action as required.
- Toaction requests from Solicitors for copy medical records.
- Tomanage the call/recall system for patients with Chronic Diseases.
- To completeadministrative work for GP contract/enhanced services, including CQRS.
- Ensurethat the childhood vaccination and immunisation records are submitted toCheshire Health Agency on a quarterly basis
- Completionof the monthly FP34 return for the Prescription Pricing Authority.
- Inputting/scanningall patient specific documents into the EMIS computer system and DOCMAN system.
- Attendmeetings as required.
- Understandingof and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality. This is to be maintained at all times whetherin or out of working hours. Patient orpractice matters must not be discussed outside the premises.
- Anyother duties, appropriate to the grade, as required from time to time, inconsultation with the Practice Manager/Partners, to ensure the smooth runningof the practice.
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
- Previous office experience
- Previous experience within a GP practice
- Previous use of EMIS computer system
