Job Title: Student Accommodation Support Assistant (Administration)
Job Purpose
To support the delivery of the Summer Lets Programme and assist with student departure and September intake preparations within student accommodation. The role involves coordinating logistics, preparing rooms and information packs, and providing hands-on support to ensure a smooth transition for departing and arriving residents.
Key Responsibilities
Departure Support (June)
- Organise and sort departure keys and associated files.
- Assist with administrative and logistical tasks relating to student departures.
- Support the delivery of the Summer Lets Programme in coordination with the team.
- Work closely with colleagues (including Solomie and Summer Lets staff) to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and organise keys and information packs for short-term residents.
- Ensure effective coordination and communication with Summer Lets staff.
September Intake Preparation
- Assist in preparing accommodation for new student arrivals.
- Place informational posters in flats across Platt & Writtle House.
- Prepare and distribute welcome packs and information packs in residents' rooms.
- Ensure rooms are ready, clean, and appropriately set up for occupancy.
Student Arrival & Induction
- Support the student check-in process, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience.
- Assist with directing students and responding to initial queries.
Events & Engagement
- Support the preparation and setup of the Welcome Party (18 September 2026).
- Assist with general tasks to promote a positive student experience.
Skills & Experience
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proactive and flexible approach to work.
- Previous experience in student accommodation, hospitality, or events support.
- Experience in administrative or coordination roles.
- Familiarity with student services or residential environments.
Qualifications
- No formal qualifications required; however, relevant experience in customer service, administration, or hospitality is advantageous.
- Organisation: Ability to manage logistics and prepare materials efficiently.
- Teamwork: Works collaboratively with colleagues to deliver programmes.
- Customer Focus: Provides a welcoming and supportive experience for students.
- Communication: Clear and professional interaction with students and staff.
- Adaptability: Able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Additional Information
- Working Pattern: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday Flexible hours (aligned with programme requirements)
