Job Description

Position: Administrator

Location: Northan Compound Land, Exeter EX2 8NJ

Pay Rate: £13.22 per hour (PAYE)

Contract: 6 Months (Till Dec)

Hours: 40. hours per week

Job Purpose

To provide efficient administrative, customer service, and operational support within the Service Centre, ensuring accurate data management, effective communication, and smooth day-to-day operations. The role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and support both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Communication
  • Answer inbound telephone calls in a professional, polite, and efficient manner.
  • Accurately log customer enquiries, complaints, and service requests within
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints, with a focus on customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Assist Credit Control with outstanding debt queries through effective investigation and resolution.
  • Welcome visitors, organise meeting rooms, and arrange refreshments as required.
Administration & Data Management
  • Perform data checking, validation, interrogation, and updating of spreadsheets and internal systems.
  • Transfer and update information from spreadsheets into bespoke software applications.
  • Process information and documentation requests in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within and other business systems.
  • Order and manage office stationery and supplies.
Operational Support
  • Support the daily driver debrief process, recording issues and actions taken.
  • Monitor waste collection rounds, tracking progress and reporting any issues to the management team.
  • Reallocate work between waste collection rounds to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Investigate operational data, identify issues, and provide solution-focused recommendations.
  • Operate the weighbridge for incoming and outgoing waste movements.
  • Input weighbridge tickets, photographs, and associated documentation accurately into company systems.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Maintain compliance with company processes and operational standards.
  • Participate in required training and development activities.
General Duties
  • Support the Administration Coordinator and management team with ad hoc projects and tasks.
  • Undertake additional duties as reasonably required to support business operations.
  • Contribute positively to team objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications Essential
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good numeracy skills and confidence working with data.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
  • Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to investigate and analyse information to identify solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, proactive, and adaptable approach to work.
Desirable
  • Experience using or similar CRM systems.
  • Experience within customer service, administration, logistics, waste management, or operational support environments.
  • Knowledge of weighbridge operations and transport/logistics processes.
