We are looking for an experienced Onsite IT Support Engineer to provide ad hoc technical support at an onsite location in Kildare, Ireland.

The role will involve attending site when physical IT support is required, carrying out hardware replacements, troubleshooting equipment and completing hands-on infrastructure tasks.

The successful engineer will be responsible for the physical onsite work, while a remote IT team will handle configuration and remote technical activities.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Attend site on an ad hoc basis when technical support is required.
• Diagnose and replace faulty IT hardware.
• Replace laptop components, including hard drives and other hardware where required.
• Replace and install network Switches within equipment racks.
• Carry out physical infrastructure and hardware changes.
• Troubleshoot onsite hardware issues.
• Follow remote instructions from the central IT team when completing onsite changes.
• Ensure all physical work is completed safely and to the required standard.
• Provide clear updates on work completed and any further issues identified.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Previous experience working as an IT Support Engineer, Field Engineer, Desktop Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
• Experience replacing and configuring physical IT equipment.
• Experience working with laptops, desktops and other end-user hardware.
• Experience working with network equipment, ideally including Switches and rack-mounted equipment.
• Comfortable working independently onsite.
• Able to respond to ad hoc call-outs at short notice where required.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with remote IT teams.
