Actuarial Pricing Analyst

Salary:From £56,800 + excellent benefits

Location status:Hybrid working

Location:Willow House, Staines or Angel Court, London

Contract type:Permanent

Shift pattern:Full-time - 37.5hrs

As anActuarial Pricing Analyst, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our UK Insurance business. You'll help us make smart, data-driven decisions that ensure our products are fair, competitive, and sustainable - all while keeping our customers at the heart of what we do.

Key Responsibilities

You'll be part of a collaborative actuarial team, working on pricing and analytics for one or more of our health insurance or subscription products. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Analysing historical performance to identify trends and recommend pricing actions
  • Modelling the future impact of pricing changes and presenting your insights to senior stakeholders
  • Supporting the development and pricing of new products and benefit features
  • Conducting investigations into areas like customer retention, competitor pricing, and long-term profitability
  • Using advanced analytical techniques to extract, refine and interpret data
  • Documenting your work in line with Technical Actuarial Standards
  • Collaborating with teams across Sales, Finance, Product, Clinical Policy and Healthcare Analytics
  • Working closely with our Actuarial Technical Hub to understand claims inflation and its impact

You'll be supported by a Senior Pricing Actuary but will also have the autonomy to lead your own projects and contribute to strategic decisions.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who's curious, analytical, and passionate about using data to make a difference. Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Experience in pricing within general insurance or health markets
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Practical knowledge of modelling techniques such as Generalised Linear Models, machine learning, or price optimisation
  • Proficiency in tools like SAS or SQL (experience with Emblem, Radar or R is a bonus)
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong communication skills - you can explain complex ideas clearly and simply
  • Progress towards an IFoA qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential if you have the right technical experience
