Family Action & the Role's Impact:
At Family Action we support people through change, challenge or crisis. It's what we've done for over 150 years. We protect children, support young people and adults and offer direct, practical help to families and communities.
We see first-hand the power of family to shape lives, for better or worse, so we speak up for the importance of family in national and local policymaking, amplify family voices and represent the changing needs of families in the UK today.
Your impact
Within this role, you will plan and deliver high-quality stay and play group sessions for babies, young children and their parents/carers within the four Stockton on Tees Borough Council Family Hubs. You will create a warm, friendly and stimulating environment with age-appropriate activities that support developmental milestones for babies and young children and ensure all spaces are inclusive and welcoming for families from diverse backgrounds. You may also support the development and delivery of other family focused groups within the Borough subject to emerging needs.
Main Responsibilities:
1. To provide safe, creative, and developmentally appropriate play opportunities by planning and preparing engaging activities and arranging equipment within a secure and stimulating environment.
2. To ensure a safe and nurturing environment through the implementation of appropriate risk assessments, active supervision of activities, and adherence to established safety protocols
3. To set up and dismantle play spaces and activities, including assembling and tidying away play equipment, and ensuring all furniture and materials are returned to their original locations
4. To remain consistently aware of and comply with health and safety procedures at all times.
5. To promote parental involvement and support by developing and maintaining effective working relationships with families and provide information to parents about external services and organisations.
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
We're looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who can make a positive contribution to the lives of children and their families in Stockton on Tees. You must have a genuine passion for working with children and families, and have a nurturing, caring personality to be able to engage and support children's development and wellbeing. You must be able to plan and deliver appropriate play activities. If you're passionate about providing an exceptional service to children and the community, we'd love to hear from you!
