Accounts and Tax Senior
Manage a portfolio of clients and help drive our practice forward.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Directors, this is a pivotal, high-visibility role within our practice offering significant responsibility and clear progression. You will act as a key advisor to clients while working collaboratively within our dynamic team to support senior leadership in growing the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
• Client Portfolio Management:
Acting as the primary contact for a designated portfolio, delivering proactive service and advice.
• Bookkeeping:
• Accounts & Tax Compliance:
Preparing and reviewing statutory year-end accounts, corporation tax, personal tax, and VAT preparation using Iris and Xero.
• Tax Planning:
Identifying and executing tax-efficient structures and planning opportunities for clients.
• Practice Development:
Working closely with the Directors to identify new business opportunities, onboard clients, and expand service lines.
• Team Leadership & Training:
Managing junior staff, reviewing their work, and assisting Directors with internal training and development initiatives.
Who We Are Looking For
• Experience:
Preferably 5+ years of experience working in a similar environment within a UK-based accountancy practice is essential.
• Qualifications: Preferably ACA or ACCA Qualified or similar qualification or experience.
• Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate seamlessly as part of a team.
• Software:
Extensive technical expertise in Xero, Iris, accounts preparation, and multi-tax compliance.
• Drive:
Proven ability to mentor junior staff and a desire to assist Directors with practice growth.
• Work Style:
Thrives in a dedicated, fully office-based environment (this is not a hybrid role).
• Availability:
Immediate availability or a short notice period is highly advantageous.
Remuneration & Benefits
• Base Salary:
£45,000-£50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
