Job Description

Salary: £35,000 + per annum pro rata / hourly equivalent

Full-time temporary role - Hybrid working pattern.

To start 2 nd January 2025

We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Receivable Manager for a global creative and dynamic marketing and events agency based in London SE1 area. Funky offices, collaborative, buzzy environment.

As the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the agency's positive Net Working Capital position through establishing effective internal communication channels to ensure healthy financial management of projects and working with external parties to resolve Accounts Receivable issues promptly. You will be the key point of contact for AR, working independently with full support from the team. You will work closely with management to keep them updated on all finance-related matters you handle.

Key requirements:

  • Strong commercial acumen and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively.
  • Logical thinker with numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, capable of working calmly under pressure.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Proficiency with IT systems, especially Excel.
  • Experience with Deltek Workbook (our ERP system) is preferred but not essential; willingness to learn is crucial.

Your Background, Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in an agency within the marketing communications sector is preferred.
  • Suitable for candidates studying ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Management:

  • Set up new clients and project numbers following compliance procedures.
  • Collaborate with Account Management and Production teams to manage project lifecycle from opening to closing.
  • Understand and advise on intercompany transactions and accounting treatments.

NWC / Treasury:

  • Download daily bank reports and allocate incoming funds to sales and general ledgers.
  • Raise invoices based on instructions using our ERP system.
  • Generate client invoices via various platforms, ensuring VAT compliance.
  • Monitor client payment terms to manage Net Working Capital.
  • Follow up on overdue payments and manage AR aging reports.
  • Assist with registration funds, liaising with payment processors, clients, and project managers.
  • Receive support from the finance team, Financial Controller, and Senior Management Accountant.

Ad hoc:

  • Manage overhead costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support and guide other finance team members.
  • Handle special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with WIP and project reconciliations.
