Cashier Administrator

Location: Peterborough
Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (hybrid after 3/6 months)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Cashier Administrator to join our busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous finance or cashiering experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining accuracy.

You will play a key role in ensuring financial transactions are processed efficiently, reconciliations are completed accurately, and finance records are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Posting and allocating daily cash sheets and banking transactions.
  • Processing journals where required.
  • Handling finance-related queries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Completing full bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
  • Auditing cashbook supporting documentation to ensure completeness and authorisation.
  • Maintaining accurate filing and record-keeping systems.
  • Posting cash-paid transactions, including cheque payments and cleared banking entries.
  • Supporting the wider finance team with administrative duties as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience within a finance, accounts, cashiering or administrative role.
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to manage a high volume of transactions efficiently.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using accounting or finance systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
