Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the accounts payable team ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of all account payable functions.
  • Take full responsibility for end to end accounts payable process including invoice processing, approval workflows, payment runs and approvals and associated reconciliations.
  • Review and approval of weekly travel and subsistence claims in line with public sector and internal policy.
  • Oversee supplier management including supplier set up, bank changes and supplier ledger set up and approvals within our finance system; reconcile supplier statements.
  • Ensure strong internal controls are maintained, with a strong focus on compliance, governance and audit readiness.
  • Provide oversight and approval of all revenue returns and reconcilation of associated control accounts.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for review and approval.
  • Assist in providing backup for the annual financial statements.
  • Assist with ad hoc finance requirements including payroll processing as required from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience, Competence, Capability Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in an accounts payable team in a very busy accounts payable environment, preferably supervising and managing the team or function.
  • Strong knowledge of public sector and revenue rules as applicable to invoices, prompt payment, Professional Services Withholding Tax (PSWT), Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) and travel and subsistence regulations.
  • Strong IT skills including the use of MS Office, MS Teams and MS SharePoint.
  • Proven experience using ERP systems in a finance environment.
  • Relevant third level qualification or other qualification with relevant experience in finance or accounting.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Effective communication skills at multiple levels.
  • Ability to balance multiple deadlines and deliver outputs in a busy environment.
  • Ideally bring some public sector experience.
  • Ideally be familiar with Microsoft Dynamics Navision, Business Central or a similar ERP system.
  • Ideally have some experience in payroll processing or its supervision.

Location: Based in Oranmore, Co Galway.

Contract: 12 month (June 2025 to June 2026).

Transport: Own transport essential.
