Accounts Manager - Accountancy Practice

A growing accountancy practice in Winchester is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join its expanding team. This is a client-facing, managerial role offering a varied portfolio, leadership responsibility and exposure to a broad range of sectors.

This opportunity is ideal for a qualified ACA / ACCA accountant looking to take ownership of clients, develop their team leadership skills and progress within a forward-thinking firm.

The Role

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, including limited companies, LLPs and partnerships
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, handling day-to-day queries and relationship management
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts, corporation tax and business tax computations
  • Oversee some bookkeeping and VAT work as part of the wider client service
  • Work across multiple sectors
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships, delivering a high standard of service
  • Use a range of accounting software including IRIS, Silverfin, Caseware, Sage and Xero
  • Manage workload effectively, ensuring assignments are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Take responsibility for aspects of billing and recoveries
  • Supervise, train and support junior members of the accounts team
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm

Candidate Profile

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (essential)
  • Minimum 3 years' UK post-qualified experience within an accountancy practice
  • Experience gained in a medium or large-sized firm preferred
  • Strong UK GAAP financial reporting knowledge
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and client management skills
  • Ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel and IT skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems
  • Confident, professional and positive approach
  • Collaborative team player who builds strong internal and external relationships
