Accounts & Audit Senior - Penrith

Salary: £32,000 - £42,000 (DOE + Study Support if Part-Qualified)

Independent Firm of Chartered Accountants Role Overview

The role involves a mix of accounts preparation and audit work, typically around 80% accounts and 20% audit, depending on experience and client needs.

You will work closely with clients across a variety of sectors, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and charitable organisations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Complete corporation tax computations and liaise with HMRC as required
  • Support and lead audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Manage and develop relationships with a diverse portfolio of clients
  • Mentor junior team members and review their work
  • Work closely with managers and partners to deliver client-focused solutions
Candidate Requirements
  • ACA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified (study support available for part-qualified)
  • Experience in a UK accountancy practice is essential
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and basic tax principles
  • Some audit experience is advantageous, but not essential
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively
