About Forest

We're Forest, the shared e-bike operator in London known for bikes that resemble trees. We are committed to sustainability and affordability, offering users 10 minutes of free cycling daily through advertising revenue. Our mission is to promote greener cities, and we are expanding rapidly.

Having recently closed our Series B funding (£13 million), we plan to expand to another European city this year. Last year, our users completed over 9 million rides.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting and support our daily finance operations. You will handle general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and process improvements, helping us establish a solid financial base as we grow.

The ideal candidate enjoys detailed work, system improvements, and understands how accounting reflects a business's story. You will thrive in a low-structure, high-impact environment, taking initiative and helping shape our processes. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process vendor invoices, manage weekly payments, maintain records of payments and expenses, prepare customer invoices, resolve billing issues, and support collections.
  • Month-End Close & Financial Reporting: Support reconciliations, journal entries, review balance sheet accounts, prepare financial statements, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to UK GAAP/IFRS, support tax filings and audits, and maintain organized financial records.
  • Operational Support & Projects: Contribute to financial analysis for new initiatives and identify process improvements.
Requirements:
  • Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years in a top 8 public accounting firm or 3+ years in a high-growth tech company
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and general ledger accounting
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Experience with accounting software (Xero preferred)
  • Detail-oriented, organized, eager to learn
  • Proactive problem-solver
  • Team player with cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Interest in sustainability and technology is a plus

This role is based at our Moorgate office, with a hybrid work model of 4 days in-office and 1 day remote.
