Arcon Recruitment is seeking an Accountant for a six-month contract in Ballina, Co. Mayo, with an immediate start available.

This opportunity would suit an organised, hands-on accountant who can support a busy finance function, maintain accurate financial records and deliver timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Complete bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
• Manage month-end duties, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Support accounts payable and receivable activities.
• Assist with VAT returns and payroll-related accounting.
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting.
• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with audit preparation.
• Work closely with management and colleagues to meet reporting deadlines.

Skills and Experience

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant with relevant accounting experience.
• Experience preparing management accounts and completing month-end reporting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Availability to start immediately and commit to a six-month contract.
