Account Manager DACH


You combine Professional German language skills with experience in sales within the food ingredients industry. Besides that you are motivated to contribute to the further development of the sales department and market approach.


About the open position

For Van Eeghen, Amsterdam we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager for the DACH region. You will manage and grow relationships with their Tier 1 and 2 customers in the sports, health and nutritional supplements industry. You have a strong strategic mindset, a deep understanding of the market and the ability to leverage insights to drive business success.

You are willing to actively contribute to the further professionalization of the sales department. The head quarter office of Van Eeghen is in Amsterdam; it is located in a monumental building at Herengracht. It is a hybrid position.


The following tasks will be a part of your responsibilities

  • Strategic Account Planning: Developing and execution of comprehensive account plans for assigned Tier 1 customers, focusing on channel development, promotions, pricing, presentation, distribution, and product development.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitoring account performance and market trends, updating plans regularly based on analysis to ensure maximum ROI.
  • Business Partnership: Acting as a trusted business partner for key accounts, providing qualitative and quantitative insights to optimize their business performance.
  • Contract Management: Preparing proposals for contracts, leading negotiation strategies, and ensuring proper administration of agreements while managing ERP forecast data.
  • Network Development: Building and maintaining a robust network of internal and external relationships to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in collaboration with various functional teams.


Your Profile

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures. You are used to strategic account planning and value-based selling. In this position you will need excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and reporting skills, with effective project and time management capabilities.


Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Food Technology, or similar, or in Business, Marketing with experience in the food ingredients industry
  • You are fluent in English and a (good) command of German, or willing to increase your level by a German Language course
  • Proven experience in value selling and new business development.
  • It is a plus if you bring a network of clients and relations within the DACH region, specifically in sports and nutritional supplements.
  • You have a deep understanding of the functional ingredients industry, including market trends and customer needs.
  • You have a strong sales acumen and strategic mindset, with demonstrated ability to negotiate and close complex deals.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, sales analytics, and reporting tools.
