Purpose of the Role
The Account Executive is accountable for delivering essential support to their team to ensure the excellent delivery of integrated media campaigns for their clients. They should possess strong administrative and communicative skills - both verbal and written, and have the ability to manage upwards, meet and manage deadlines, draft and distribute media materials, liaise with the media and facilitate press requests, support in project management, and contribute to the organisation of client events, among other essential tasks.
Accountabilities
Communications Campaigns
- Works with senior members of their team to ensure they have a clear understanding of their clients' business objectives and assists in the roll-out of campaign activity to help deliver these
- Collaborates with their wider team to help deliver excellent, creative campaigns including optimum coverage results for all their clients, in order to add value and maintain an effective working relationship with their clients
- Responds appropriately to incoming media inquiries, builds their own network of journalists and develops a thorough understanding of how to pitch and secure coverage across long- and short-lead outlets in order to proactively drive forward innovative and thoughtful campaign results on a daily basis
- Drafts and sources strong campaign assets including media materials, media images and film content, ensuring all copy, including captions and copyright permissions, are in place and approved, before issuing externally, to attract maximum interest in the stories they're telling on behalf of their clients
- Schedules interviews, photo shoots and film crews, as well as assists with the organisation of press conferences, photocalls and press trips, to help achieve the desired campaign results
- Communicates internally with colleagues to support joined-up cross-company and cross-office pitching as relevant, to help ensure all key international coverage opportunities are explored and ideally secured for our clients
- Suggests content ideas for impactful social media posts to promote their clients across the company/client's platforms
Account Administration
- Manages the day-to-day administration of their client accounts, and delivers on their agreed outcomes to ensure their accounts run effectively
- Regularly communicates with their clients, including sharing the clipping, tracking and reporting of press coverage in a timely fashion - the all-important campaign results and coordinates and books in client meetings, and takes/circulates minutes as appropriate, to ensure an accurate record is shared of what actions have been agreed, who is responsible for what and by when
- Drafts and updates campaign documents and maintains accurate client folders, filing and archiving on behalf of the team on a regular basis, so that the latest information can be accessed by the team as required
- Assists with client research to help prepare for meetings or to inform account strategies, booking any client-related travel for the team and ensuring all important client and wider industry dates are entered into the office calendars
Office/Team Responsibilities
- Acts as an ambassador for the Company and a role model for their peers
- Actively contributes ideas and knowledge-sharing in staff meetings and by email, such as relevant industry intel or coverage, circulating to teams and across the offices as appropriate, reading magazines as part of the rota and circulating coverage in the daily email office updates, and providing updates for the company database, and being part of the magazine rota
- Attends client and industry events in an official capacity to help build out their networks and develop their knowledge of the sector
- Performs any other task as required by senior team members on request
- Takes part in any training opportunities provided by the company
Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- At least one year of work experience within the arts and culture industry, or in the field of communications
- Knowledge of the media and digital communications landscape
- An educational background in contemporary art history or communications would be desirable
- Language skills are an asset
