Accommodation Caseworker

• Part-time position of 21 hours per week
• Fixed term contract to 8 April 2027, with the possibility of extension subject to funding
• Annual salary of £14,894.91 (pro-rata of £26,243.41 FTE), rising by 4% upon successful probationary period

Stockport Without Abuse (SWA) is a grassroots charity committed to supporting our vision of everyone having a right to live in safety, and to have a future without fear of domestic abuse. We work directly with women, men and children who have experienced or are at risk of domestic abuse.

Responsibilities

Main purpose of the post:

• Based in refuge, provide high quality practical and emotional support to ensure individuals who have experienced domestic abuse have the foundations to live free from fear.
• Develop support and safety plans.
• Provide appropriate signposting to local services.
• Offer mental health support, financial and welfare advice, and rehousing assistance.

Qualifications

• Evidence of strong casework management skills and good written and verbal communication.
• Understanding of the importance of maintaining professional boundaries.
• Experience providing direct support to vulnerable individuals.
• Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to domestic violence, including civil and criminal legislation and welfare rights (desirable).
