Job Description
Access to Care Advisor - UPMC Waterford Overview 
UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre Waterford is hiring a Radiotherapy Access to Care Advisor on an 11 month fixed term contract. The Access to Care advisor is responsible for patient services. We are looking for a receptionist to manage our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Receiving visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them
- Answering incoming phone calls, emails and checking voicemails
- Receiving and sorting daily mail
- Printing simulation list for the day and checking insurance for all patients
- Preparing and distributing mail
- Managing Task Pad
- Arranging patient transportation, ambulance transfers
- Daily check in for each patient
- Collecting patient surveys
- Keeping the reception area clean, tidy and free from hazards
- Printing appointment cards on Friday morning for the following week
- Ordering stationery
- Coordinating and resolving patient complaints
- Adding patient details to our schedule software (ARIA)
- Welcoming walk ins and answering questions about services
- Linking in with nurses daily
- Covering clinics for doctors
- Cross covering with other colleagues in the department
- Handling patient queries about prices, payments and ensuring all fees are captured before radiotherapy
- Coordinating front desk activities, distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls
- Managing emergencies promptly and ensuring efficient office operations
- Relationship building skills

- Work towards and meet deadlines
- Diary management
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, folder management and systematic filing
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role preferably in a healthcare environment
€30,500 - €45,878 pro rata per annum based on a 39 hour week.
