Acceleration Co-ordination Manager
Location: Hybrid - 1 day per week in Reading
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 per annum + company benefits
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Security Clearance: Active Security Check (SC) clearance is essential
About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented Acceleration Co-ordination Manager to provide the operational backbone of our Acceleration Team.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines delivery coordination, programme governance, information management, reporting and digital process improvement. It is ideally suited to someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex activities, keeping teams organised, turning information into meaningful management insight and finding smarter ways of working.
This is not a traditional Project Manager or a purely administrative PMO role. You will play a central part in ensuring the Acceleration Team operates efficiently, with effective governance, accurate reporting, clear accountability and well-managed information.
Working closely with acceleration leads, intervention managers and wider stakeholders, you will coordinate sprint activities, manage actions and risks, maintain key programme information and produce high-quality reporting to support decision-making. You will also help develop the team's digital capability, using Microsoft tools to improve reporting, automate processes and reduce administrative effort.
For the right candidate, this role offers an opportunity to build on existing project support, PMO or business operations experience while developing practical skills in Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps.
Please note: Active SC (Security Check) clearance is an essential requirement for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Sprint Management and Team Coordination
- Own and maintain the sprint calendar, coordinating sprint ceremonies, planning sessions and reviews.
- Ensure actions, decisions and commitments are accurately captured, assigned and tracked through to completion.
- Maintain sprint metrics and provide regular progress updates.
- Coordinate inputs from team members, follow up on outstanding information and support effective sprint planning.
- Help ensure the team remains organised, focused and aligned on priorities.
- Meeting Management and Stakeholder Coordination
- Prepare agendas and supporting materials for workshops, stand-ups and governance meetings.
- Attend meetings and produce concise, accurate and action-oriented minutes and summaries.
- Maintain decision logs and action trackers, ensuring clear ownership and deadlines.
- Follow up with stakeholders to monitor progress and drive actions to closure.
- Support effective communication and collaboration across the Acceleration Team.
- Reporting and Governance
- Produce regular sprint reports and draft Steering Committee packs.
- Gather and consolidate progress updates from intervention leads.
- Collate programme metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs) and management information.
- Maintain governance documentation and ensure reporting is accurate, consistent and delivered on time.
- Prepare clear, professional reporting materials suitable for senior stakeholders and executive-level audiences.
- Support the continuous improvement of governance, reporting and information management processes.
- Action, Issue and Risk Management
- Own and maintain the Acceleration Issues, Risks and Actions (AIR) register.
- Ensure entries are accurate, complete, current and assigned to the appropriate owners
- SharePoint and Information Management
- Manage and develop the Acceleration Team's SharePoint site, ensuring information is structured, accessible and well maintained.
- Data, Reporting and Digital Development
- Future Capability and Continuous Improvement
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Strong organisational, coordination and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience supporting project, programme or operational governance.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear reports and meeting summaries.
- Experience taking minutes, maintaining action logs and following up on commitments.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Practical experience administering or managing SharePoint sites.
- Experience creating, maintaining or using Microsoft Lists.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to chase outstanding information and escalate issues when necessary.
- Active SC (Security Check) security clearance. This is an essential requirement for the role.
Desirable
- PMO, project support, programme coordination or business operations experience.
- Experience coordinating Agile sprints or other structured delivery cycles.
- Experience maintaining RAID or AIR registers and supporting governance forums.
- Data management, data quality or management information experience.
- Exposure to Power BI, including dashboards, reporting or data visualisation.
- Familiarity with Power Automate and workflow automation.
- Exposure to Power Apps or other low-code development tools.
- An understanding of programme delivery methodologies and governance arrangements.
Highly Desirable
- Experience building low-code digital solutions to address business needs.
- Experience developing dashboards and data visualisations that support decision-making.
- Experience improving business processes and reducing manual administrative effort.
- Familiarity with Defence or Government programmes, particularly in environments with formal governance and reporting requirements.
The Person We Are Looking For
You are someone who takes ownership, enjoys making things work better and understands the importance of reliable information, effective coordination and clear accountability.
You are comfortable working with detail but can also see the bigger picture. You can bring structure to competing priorities, communicate confidently with stakeholders at different levels and ensure that actions do not get lost or forgotten.
You are curious about technology and interested in using digital tools to solve practical business problems. You do not need to be an experienced developer; we are looking for someone with a solid operational foundation, a willingness to learn and the motivation to develop their digital and analytical capabilities.
Above all, you are dependable, collaborative and improvement-focused, with a genuine interest in helping a team deliver effectively.
