Job Description

Pertemps Royal Mail is seeking a 7.5T Driver for a temporary to permanent position in York.

Key Information
  • Location: York
  • Start Date: 27/07/2026
  • Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
  • Pay Rate: £16.43 per hour
  • Hours: Up to 35 hours a week
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Shift Times: 09:30 - 19:00
Responsibilities
  • Deliver parcels across the local area for Parcelforce Worldwide.
  • Operate a 7.5 tonne vehicle, ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Provide excellent customer service while working independently outdoors.
  • Securely manage all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items such as food products or alcohol in line with Royal Mail business standards.
Requirements
  • Full UK manual driving licence with category C1 entitlement (7.5T) with no more than 6 points.
  • Previous experience driving a 7.5T vehicle essential.
  • Good knowledge of York and surrounding areas.
  • Physically fit with ability to lift parcels up to 20kg.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to pass a DBS (criminal background) check.
  • Valid Tachograph card.
