HGV Drivers Wanted - Wakefield (Junction 41)

New pass drivers welcome!

Taskmaster are recruiting 6 x HGV Drivers to join our client based just off Junction 41, Wakefield. This is a great opportunity for newly qualified drivers looking to gain valuable experience in a supportive environment.

Please note this is not a permanent role and the driver will be required for a 6-7 week period. Taskmaster do however have various other placements available one the contract comes to and end. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is a new pass driver to build their experience and get in the HGV industry as a new pass.

Pay & Hours

• £13.68 per hour (up to 37 hours)
• Overtime paid at £20.52ph (Paid after 37 hours)
• Paid breaks!
• Shifts: 9 to 9.5 hours per day (may run over)
• Start times typically 06:00-06:30 (occasionally 07:00)
• Days only - no overnight stays

The Role

• Driving in a range of vehicles from 5t to 7.5t
• Multi-drop deliveries
• Hands-on role involving manual handling
• Full manual handling training and lifting aids provided

Requirements

• Valid HGV Licence (C1 licence minimum requirement)
• Willingness to undertake physical work
• No more than 6 points on licence

Start & Training

• Start date: 01/06
• Initial training week includes:
• Days 1-2: Classroom training
• Day 3: Practical training
• Days 4-5: Ride-along with experienced drivers

Assignment Duration

• Expected to run until 17/07
• Potential extension to 24/07 (not guaranteed)
