We are seeking a skilled 2nd Line Support Engineer to join our client's dynamic team in Reading, on an initial 8 week contract. As part of a fast-paced MSP environment, you will provide technical support and troubleshooting for a range of clients across various industries. Your primary focus will be on resolving escalated IT issues, ensuring seamless system operations, and delivering excellent customer service.
- Provide 2nd line support for escalated issues across Microsoft, VMware, and Veeam technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and networking.
- Administer and maintain virtualized environments (VMware) and backup solutions (Veeam).
- Work closely with 1st and 3rd line teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Ensure documentation and ticketing systems are kept up to date.
- Assist in IT projects, including migrations, deployments, and upgrades.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining SLAs.
- Proven experience in a 2nd line IT support role, ideally within an MSP.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, O365).
- Experience with VMware (vSphere, ESXi) and Veeam backup solutions.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
