Primary PurposeThe purpose of an Instructional Coach is to improve teaching and learning by transforming the culture in which:
- teaching is transparent and is the focus among professionals.
- planning for instruction is thorough, collaborative, and pedagogically sound.
- conversations about improving instruction are constant, data-driven, and purposeful.
Instructional Coaches will support campus instructional staff in lesson internalization and differentiation, instructional best practices, understanding of content, data analysis, and overall improvement in teaching and learning based on TEKS.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree
Master's Degree preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge curriculum, instruction and assessment
Ability to organize, coordinate, and facilitate instruction
Ability to interpret data
Ability to provide ongoing, targeted professional development
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Three years' experience as a classroom teacher
Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Policy, Reports, and LawComply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
