1:1 Teaching Assistant - Year 1

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school on the Wirral that is looking to appoint a full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 1 from 2nd September.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a positive difference to a child's educational journey.

About the Role

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child in Year 1
• Supporting a pupil with complex learning needs, an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and communication difficulties
• Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver personalised support
• Encouraging the child's independence, confidence and engagement with learning
• Building a positive, trusting relationship to help the child thrive both academically and socially

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly those with complex needs
• Experience working with children who have EHCPs and communication needs is highly desirable
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Due to the individual needs of the pupil, the school has expressed a preference for a female Teaching Assistant for this role.
• Reliable, committed and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
