Location Burscough Village Primary School, Colburne Close, Burscough, Ormskirk, L40 4LB (208 on roll) Tel: School website: Summary Burscough Village Primary School is seeking a caring, patient and dedicated individual to join our Nursery team to provide 1:1 support for a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). This rewarding role involves supporting a child with additional needs, including physical needs and speech, language and communication difficulties, to access all aspects of nursery life and make progress towards their individual outcomes. Working under the direction of the EYFS Leader, SENCO and class staff, you will help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where the child can develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with young children, preferably within an Early Years setting.
  • Is committed to inclusive practice and supporting children withadditionalneeds.
  • Has knowledge of speech,languageand communication development.
  • Can implement personalised learning and support plans.
  • Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with children and families.
  • Can work effectively as part of a team.
  • Has excellent communication and observational skills.
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and child welfare.
  • Experience of supporting children with SEND, physical needs,speechand language difficulties or EHCP outcomes would be highly desirable.

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Mathematics Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant childcare qualification.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Relevant SEND training.

Essential Experience

  • Experience working with young children.
  • Experience supporting children's learning and development.
  • Experience working as part of a team.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting children with SEND.
  • Experience supporting children with speech and language needs.
  • Experience supporting children with physical needs.
  • Experience working within an Early Years setting.
  • Experience of implementing external professional advice and programmes.
