The role

As a Systems Engineering Manager, you'll be at the forefront of delivering complex engineering solutions across multiple vehicle programmes. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll guide a team of talented systems engineers, ensuring consistent application of systems engineering processes that meet customer and regulatory expectations.

Day-to-day you'll be:
  • Leading and mentoring a team of systems engineers across multiple programmes
  • Overseeing systems engineering processes including requirements management, architecture development, integration, verification and validation
  • Collaborating with project managers, design leads and stakeholders to align engineering delivery with programme goals
  • Driving consistency in tools, methods and documentation across projects
  • Managing technical risks and supporting resolution through structured problem solving

The role is based can be based at either Bristol, Walsall or Devonport, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working patterns are available.

Essential experience of the Systems Engineering Manager
  • Significant experience in systems engineering within defence, automotive or aerospace sectors
  • Proven leadership in managing engineering teams and delivering complex systems
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering standards and frameworks (e.g. ISO 15288, INCOSE SE Handbook)
  • Proficiency in requirements management and modelling tools (e.g. DOORS, Cameo, Enterprise)
Qualifications for the Systems Engineering Manager
  • Degree in Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
