(Senior) Trading Software Engineer

Northpool is a company that trades energy 24/7, 365 days a year. To support our trading desks, we develop in-house trading software powered by the Operations, Data & Analytics department and our Software Engineers.

We are looking for a (Senior) Software Engineer to strengthen our team and help further develop our trading software.

Responsibilities

• Work on all aspects of our trading software such as exchange interfaces, automated order management and UI components.
• Design and implement new functionality, performance and stability optimisations, and operational support.
• Ensure that the software remains reliable, maintainable and efficient for our traders.
• Develop highly performant trading software that keeps Northpool ahead of the competition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree.
• 5+ years of working experience.
• Experience with object oriented programming.
• Experience developing high performance software for low latency applications, multi threaded programming and concurrency control.
• A strong understanding of software engineering principles.
• Logical reasoning and problem solving attitude.
• Outstanding analytical skills.
• A self driven and adaptable mindset.
• A strong sense of responsibility.
• Fluency in English.

Desired Skills

• Expert proficiency in C# and/or C++.
• Experience building high frequency trading software.
• Knowledge of network programming.
• Familiarity with market data feeds, order management and execution management.
• Understanding of exchange protocols (e.g. FIX).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• A fast learner.
• Proactive and flexible work mentality.
