At HR Services EMEA in our Service Hub Berlin, we stand for comprehensive HR service delivery throughout the region of Europe, Middle East & Africa. We are currently looking for a candidate for the position of (Senior) Specialist for Payroll Africa (South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Zambia) who will be responsible for payroll administration, processing, and verification of master data. The successful candidate will serve as the main contact for employee inquiries, handle official documentation, and ensure compliance with African legal requirements. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to global-scale projects along with other colleagues. Your ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines will be crucial in delivering high-quality payroll services.

  • You are responsible for the ongoing service delivery which includes payroll operations and services in terms of monthly administration, processing, and verification of master data and payroll data.
  • You are the point of contact for requests and inquiries from employees, Local HR, and external stakeholders.
  • You prepare and provide employees with requested official documentation such as tax directives.
  • You stay abreast of current and future country-specific legislative changes for all entities in scope and implement amendments timeously as required.
  • You provide payroll and ad hoc reports. Responsible for social security declarations and payments for all entities in scope (UIF, EMP201, NHIF, NSSF, etc), follow up on legislation, and participate in audits.
  • You must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage your workload within stringent deadlines.
  • Furthermore, you ensure that our HR Services are compliant with the different African legal and regulatory requirements and operates within BASF guidelines.
  • You contribute to our quality and knowledge management by documenting all processes and relevant legal regulations in accordance with our high-quality standards.
  • You have a bachelor's degree and at least 4+ years of practical full function payroll experience.
  • You are used to working with IT systems, especially MS Office applications with advanced MS Excel skills.
  • You feel comfortable in English and like to work in an international environment.
  • You are detail-oriented and can think analytically while keeping a clear head even under pressure.
  • You are good in planning and organizing, friendly and service-oriented towards customers and local partners and enjoy contributing to the team's success.
