Senior Project Manager Based Reading - Hybrid role with 2/3 days in the office per week What the role has to offer: Opportunity to see the product in operation at Thales Reading and the customer test site in Heathrow Opportunity to work in a different sector within Thales UK Part of a high profile national programme to " Build a Safer, Seamless Border Experience" Involved in the National Roll-out of the eGates Our Opportunity Thales CDI (Cyber and Digital Security) have a really exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join the team to work on the e-Gates programmeYou will be responsible for leading and successfully delivery of the e-Gates programme, key areas of focus are:- Be the main project management interface to the customer for development of the solution and testing Planning, executing and managing implementation activities to meet project schedule, quality and cost targets and ultimately customer satisfaction. Leading and managing cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams including Work Package Managers, in-house manufacturing and Project Engineers Ensuring sufficient resources are allocated to meet schedule requirements Ensuring achievement of milestones and key events per Contract Managing project risks as well as financial and contractual contingencies, Internal and external reportingThere will be some travel to UK customer sites and some European travel specifically to Madrid About the role and eGate programme "Build a Safer, Seamless Border Experience" Thales UK has a proud legacy of delivering critical technology solutions to government and industry, including more than 15 years of innovation in the Government security technology sector . Our Automatic Border Control (ABC) systems support secure, seamless travel using biometrics, e-passports, and document verification to automate identity checks and reduce border wait times. These systems are currently deployed across international airports and border points worldwide.Based at our Reading Green Park site, you will play a vital role in delivering secure, high-performance biometric border control systems to our customers. Security Clearance Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years' residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks. About you You will have proven experience of successfully leading and delivering complex, high profile projects ideally related to software development delivery and the deployment of critical systems countrywide within a customer facing role, together with the following:- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and prioritize requests Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, and contract management technics Aptitude for clear and concise thinking, flexible and able to adapt to change Knowledge of Thales PRJ and Thales DDQS processes, documentation, and milestones Knowledge and experience in deployment of biometric data capture solution or smart card Issuance solution or PKI solution Experience working with confluence and Jira line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
