OX Delivers offers a complete transport and trade solution supported by purpose-built technology which provides entrepreneurs with the end-to-end infrastructure they need to trade reliably and prosperously across the Global South. We are an emobility start-up: creators of the first purpose-built electric truck for the Global South, delivered as-a-service to enable businesses of all sizes to prosper. Our technology is breaking down existing trade barriers, paving the way for economic transformation in the Global South.

Working at OX

At OX, we work in empowered Scrum teams with a Team Lead. This underpins a culture of trust, flexibility, and teamwork.

We want to create a team who embody the following values;

  • Enthusiastic problem-solvers
  • Self-aware learners
  • Adaptable team players

Being a start-up business means things can change quickly, which drives uncertainty. We expect our teams to be able to adapt and respond to different types of work, broadening your experience. We know this kind of environment isn't for everyone so consider this before applying!

Tasks

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Electrical Systems Senior Engineer who design and build electrical systems where we need bespoke components like harnesses or high/ low voltage integrations.

You'll be working alongside a more junior Electrical Engineer, so you'll have more ownership of the overall electrical architectural design, ensuring that our electrical systems are suitable for production at scale.

Over the coming months we have ambitious goals towards ramping up production and increasing the number of trucks in market significantly. This will require a more strategic approach. You'll need to put processes in place that are effective as we move into batch production.

You'll provide a crucial interface with other cross functional teams, to ensure that we are aligned with the roadmap maintained by the central truck team.

The role will also include a wider remit of:

  • Facilitating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement that values experimentation and learning to drive growth and innovation.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Powertrain team members where appropriate to support the Team Lead, empowering team mates to make their own judgments and take ownership of their work.
  • Fostering an environment of collaboration and cross-functional teamwork to ensure alignment and successful delivery of our products.
  • Continuously evaluating and refining OX Global's practices, tools, and processes, and making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and vendors, to stay up-to-date on emerging trends and technologies in the market.
  • Attending and contributing to team Sprint meetings
Requirements
  • The most important factor is that you already have significant experience working on EV electrical architecture systems.
  • You'll have experience working on both high and low-voltage distribution.
  • Ideally you have designed test and release processes on past projects.
  • You'll need to be solution-oriented and demonstrate a can-do attitude.
  • If you've not worked in agile teams before you'll need to show an understanding of this approach and an enthusiasm to adopt it.
  • Given the market we operate in, as well as the others we plan to expand to, an understanding of emerging markets such as Rwanda would be advantageous.
Benefits

At OX we have an exciting vision to drive trade in emerging markets. We enable farmers and entrepreneurs to use zero-emissions electric transport for the first time; helping them to grow their businesses and increase their incomes. As well as the opportunity to make a real difference and add something additional and role specific to that sentence here , and to shape a highly innovative team, here is a quick summary of what we are offering;

Share options that will vest over 3 years - this will enable you to share in the success of OX

5.8% gross salary employer contributed/employee matched pension

Flexible holidays and working time - we keep track of what teams achieve, not how many days or hours you are sat at your desk

Progression opportunities through mentoring and regular reviews.

6-months maternity/2-weeks paternity full pay

WFH / Office requirements

The role will be based in Warwickshire and will support hybrid, flexible working with a mixture of working from home and in person, following the working patterns agreed upon with your team.

OX is an equal opportunities employer. Whatever path you took to get here, whatever background you're from, please apply to join our team if this role excites you. We welcome part-time applications and those returning to work. We're building a community of passionate individuals that share our goal; come and join in.
