Seasonal Tour Host

As a Wine Tour Guide, you will lead groups of visitors through our vineyard and winery, offering an engaging introduction to Ridgeview and the world of English Sparkling Wine. Each tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours, followed by a guided tasting where you will showcase our range of wines.

A typical shift, including setup and cleanup, lasts between 3 to 6 hours, depending on the tour schedule. While tours primarily take place on weekends, additional weekday tours are scheduled during peak seasons. In addition to leading tours, guides will also host tastings in our tasting room and provide retail support in our shop. Our tour hosts have the flexibility to select the shifts that best fit their availability.

What you will need to be successful applicant :

• A formal qualification in wine (e.g. WSET level 2+) and/or extensive proven experience in a relevant role.
• To be confident, respectful communicator with a warm welcome; able to clearly articulate complex processes in an engaging and interesting way.
• To have a tangible and infectious passion for wine, together with enthusiasm for the English Wine industry.
• To be credible, friendly, people person who is presentable, charismatic and a natural ambassador. Tour hosts will also be expected to sell the Ridgeview Wine Club.
• To be a team player who is flexible with availability dependent on the needs of the business and the weather. Weekend and evening working will be required throughout the season.
• To be self motivated, able to work independently with own initiative.
• Have a potential to be a Brand Ambassador, aligned with the Ridgeview values: have talent, passion, be nurturing, and striving for excellence in all they do.
• Previous experience hosting wine tours in preferable, but not essential.
• Conduct tastings that highlight our wines and the stories behind our wines.
• Upsell wines and encourage guests to take a few bottles-or a case-home with them.
• Promote and sell our Wine Club Subscription, turning casual visitors into lifelong fans.
• Create memorable experiences that have guests raving (and returning for more!).
• Work closely with the tasting room and sales team to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
