We have an exciting opportunity for a Safe Scouting Development Officer to join our amazing team.
Location: Gilwell Park, Chingford, London (with hybrid working)
Salary: £39,560 (Inclusive of Outer London Weighting, Band F, Level 3)
Term: Fixed Term Contract until January 2026
Working Hours: 35 hours per week

About the Safe Scouting Development Officer Role:
The Scout Association is seeking to appoint a Safe Scouting Development Officer to join its team until January 2026 to drive forward the delivery of the department's continuous development plan, to further protect young people in Scouts. The role will reflect on safeguarding, welfare and vetting cases that are managed within the Safeguarding Team; and safety incidents managed by the Safety Team.
Key responsibilities as our Safe Scouting Development Officer:
- Project Manage and drive delivery of the Department's continuous development plan
- Engage with Scout volunteers, Scout HQ colleagues and external agencies to gain insights to the service delivered; to develop and communicate key updates and to update and improve the service provided
- Analyse data to identify trends in safeguarding concerns, to inform senior management and Committees

- Effective communication skills
- Ability to plan, work at pace, undertake assigned tasks within deadlines and balance priorities
