Overview

Role: Rock and Pop Music Teacher - Lichfield

Department: Band Leaders

Location: Staffordshire

Employment Type: Full Time

Compensation: £27,000 - £32,000 per year

Responsibilities
  • Teach groups of primary-age children in a fun, inspiring rock and pop band format in up to 10 schools per week.
  • Teach drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and vocals, giving children their first opportunity to learn an instrument.
  • Work independently as part of a remote team of band leaders, with support from central teams.
  • Be a rock and pop star role-model, empowering and supporting children to deliver live performances at end-of-term concerts.
  • Help children develop self-belief, resilience and wellbeing through performing in a band.
  • Represent Rocksteady, building relationships with schools, teachers and parents.
  • Be prepared for highly active days and travel between schools, loading and unloading equipment and setting up/packing away at each location.
Qualifications
  • Competence on at least two of the following instruments: drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and vocals.
  • Enthusiasm to learn how to teach band lessons and complete an extensive training programme before starting timetable.
  • Resilience to work in a role with both high moments and challenges.
  • Confident, authentic communication with children, teachers and parents.
  • Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Organised, independent worker with good time management and administration skills.
  • UK/EU driving licence and own transport required to transport equipment between schools.
