Location: Hybrid / Multi-site

Grade: Band 7 equivalent

Job Summary

The Procurement & Supply Chain Systems and Data Manager leads the development, maintenance, and optimisation of digital tools, systems, and data used across the Procurement and Supply Chain function. The role ensures high-quality information, reporting, and analytics to support operational efficiency, savings delivery, and informed decision-making.

The post holder will manage a small systems and data team, drive digital improvements, and develop reporting dashboards and analytics to meet internal and external requirements.

Key Responsibilities Systems & Data Management
  • Lead the management and development of procurement and supply chain systems, data flows, and reporting tools.
  • Design, maintain, and enhance dashboards, self-service reports, and analytics to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility across systems and reporting outputs.
  • Oversee system interfaces, upgrades, and infrastructure touchpoints.
  • Act as system superuser and subject-matter lead for key procurement and inventory platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex data issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Drive digital capability improvements across the procurement and supply chain team.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and leverage new technologies.
  • Support the development of data warehouses and modern BI solutions.
  • Provide specialist input to digital and process improvement projects.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Line manage the systems and data team, including workload planning, performance, and development.
  • Collaborate with operational, clinical, administrative, and external stakeholders to understand information needs.
  • Present complex data and insights to senior stakeholders in an accessible and meaningful way.
  • Provide training and support on systems, data interpretation, and reporting tools.
Reporting & Analytics
  • Produce routine and ad hoc reports, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
  • Analyse and interpret complex datasets to support business partners and category teams.
  • Support benefits tracking, risk analysis, and performance monitoring.
Governance & Compliance
  • Support data governance, information security, and audit requirements.
  • Ensure reporting and systems comply with relevant standards, legislation, and organisational policies.
  • Contribute to change management activity, communicating impacts and benefits effectively.
Person Specification
  • Degree-level qualification in an IT, data, or digital discipline or equivalent experience in a senior technical role.
  • Strong experience managing procurement, supply chain, or operational systems in a complex environment.
  • Skilled in SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience leading teams, allocating work, and developing staff.
  • Ability to analyse complex datasets and present insights clearly to varied audiences.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience delivering digital improvements and supporting system modernisation.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and highly complex information.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, risk, and audit principles.
  • Management or leadership qualification.
  • Experience with inventory management systems, e-procurement tools, or digital supply chain solutions.
  • Experience working within regulated or public-sector environments.
  • Knowledge of large-scale procurement digital programmes and data standards.
