Plant Maintenance Engineer

Madisons Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Plant Maintenance Engineer to join our clients established team in Addlestone, Surrey.

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Plant Maintenance Engineer to manage the servicing, repair, and upkeep of their fleet and machinery at their Addlestone yard. This role requires a proactive individual with strong mechanical knowledge and a valid Class 1 HGV license to support the movement of plant and equipment between sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a range of heavy plant, vehicles, and small tools
• Manage routine servicing schedules and ensure compliance with manufacturer and safety standards
• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs
• Transport plant and equipment between sites as required (Class 1 HGV license essential)
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all equipment meets legal and operational requirements
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and site managers to coordinate repairs and logistics
• Ensure yard and workshop areas are kept safe, tidy, and organised
• Support the wider site teams when required with breakdown assistance and equipment checks

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Maintenance Engineer, or similar role within the construction or groundwork sector
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems knowledge
• Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of construction plant and vehicles
• Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and proactive attitude

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 HGV License (essential)
• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent (beneficial)
• CSCS Card (beneficial)
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
