You will have;

Central London
Hybrid working
£55-62k per annum
Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Project Lead to join their busy team on a contract basis
Duties include;
- Lead and manage multiple payroll transformation projects, including digitisation, system improvements, and process optimisation
- Oversee and develop the Analytics Team, ensuring effective delivery and performance
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor project timelines, resources, risks, and deliverables using Agile methodology
- Act as the main escalation point, resolving project issues and ensuring successful outcomes
- Support system configuration, testing (UAT), and implementation of payroll solutions
- Produce reporting, analysis, and documentation (process maps, workflows, specifications) to support decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, GDPR, and audit requirements
- Engage and communicate with key stakeholders across Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, and external partners
You will have;
- Extensive payroll expertise with strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, RTI, statutory payments, and pensions
- Proven project leadership experience delivering payroll transformation, system upgrades, and process improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
- Experience managing and developing teams in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
- Skilled in payroll system configuration, testing (UAT), and implementation
- Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to influence across HR, Finance, IT, and senior leadership
- Strong planning and organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, governance, and risk management
- Confident communicator, able to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Proactive, innovative, and continuous improvement mindset
- Strong understanding of GDPR, data protection, and audit compliance
