Job Title: Pastry Chef

Location: Kings College, South Road, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 3LA

Rate of Pay: £14.21 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Working pattern: 5 days out of 7, 06:15-14:15 and 11:45-19:45

Full Time Contract with Overtime opportunities.

Close to the central town, free meals on duty, free car parking on site, uniforms provided and changing rooms available.

What you'll do

• Plan all operations & training for the production team.
• Direct the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other foods.
• Plan and price menu items, order supplies, and keep records and accounts.
• Work on the range with the kitchen team to train, guide & develop.
• Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
• Prepare, produce and present food to the highest standard.

What you bring

• Food and Hygiene and Health and Safety Certificates.
• Experience in menu planning and production.
• Experience in or exposure to bulk cooking.
• Good knowledge of pastry work.
• Hold basic food handling skills certification.
• Level 2 Food safety Certificate - desirable.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in hands on cooking.
• Training on Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety will be ongoing throughout the year.
