HVAC Engineer

Based at Sunbury but will need to travel to London sites from time to time.

This will be a Monday to Friday role, working from 0800 - 1700 with flexibility to finish times.

The role involves providing efficient control of work services, supporting reactive breakdowns and fault finding on critical systems on site, as well as managing moves, churn, and operational activities across the ICBT portfolio for BP Sunbury. Support with identifying and managing F-gas systems alongside the compliance manager is also required.

The role will support the coordination, planning, and monitoring of subcontractor works, including monitoring, auditing, and enforcing the Control of Work requirements. It is responsible for the safe execution, quality, and timely completion of subcontractor work, ensuring adherence to Client & JLL requirements. Maintenance of logbooks, compliance, and correct completion of services and PPMs is essential.

Key objectives of the role:

1. Host, oversee, and collaborate with visiting contractors, both project-related and supporting operational team activities.
2. Manage work delivery at client premises, ensuring quality objectives and timely project completion.
3. Perform fault finding and solutioning for system breakdowns and repairs promptly.
4. Support regional leads in identifying risks to assets and systems, and manage repairs for critical systems.
5. Ensure safe execution of work in compliance with safety systems.
6. Meet SLAs and PPMs as per contract requirements.
7. Innovate and improve practices, develop skills, and support JLL growth.
8. Share knowledge and ideas effectively.
9. Ensure all reactive helpdesk requests are completed and closed in line with SLAs.
10. Participate in an on-call rota to support out-of-hours emergencies.
11. Coordinate activities and advise on limitations for client and project teams.
12. Maintain professional communication with project managers, contractors, consultants, clients, and stakeholders.
13. Provide health and safety information to contractors, including protocols and requirements.
14. Issue and clear Permits to Work as required.
15. Inspect work equipment and ensure compliance.
16. Monitor contractors and equipment to ensure method statements and risk assessments are followed.
17. Conduct workplace inspections to meet JLL and client standards.
18. Address sub-standard performance appropriately.
19. Coordinate with FM infrastructure teams for isolations, reconnections, and handovers.
20. Ensure safety-critical training is up to date.
21. Support technical training and competency development.
22. Seek continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.
23. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies and legal requirements.
24. Report critical incidents or problems to the Site Manager.
25. Support supervisors and perform other duties as assigned.
26. Assist in building technical resilience through local skills development.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:

1. Building services knowledge.
2. HVAC knowledge.
3. Controls knowledge, ideally Trend systems.
4. Facility management knowledge.
5. HSE knowledge.
6. City & Guilds or equivalent in FGAS, catering, electrical, or related disciplines.
7. SMSTMS / IOSH / NEBOSH certification desirable.
8. Supervisory experience with contractors for remedial and maintenance work.
9. Authorised Person and competent operator of Permit to Work systems.
10. Computer literacy, including MS Office and possibly bespoke databases.
11. Experience in a similar role within a large, diverse organization with a successful track record in EHS activities.
12. Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and policies.
13. Experience in a continuous improvement culture is preferred.
14. Minimum of 5 years' experience with a recognized apprenticeship.
15. BMS controls and HVAC system experience.
16. Understanding of complex systems, building automation, and plant operations, including fault finding on relays, PCBs, and water systems.
